Unless you want long wait visits, paying $50 every time you have a question in which you have to visit doctor again, and rude service, then this is for you. Otherwise don't bother as you're most likely wasting your time and money on random medicines prescribed by him.

Bottom Line:

Today I went in for a three month recheck of some blood work. I was hesitant to go because the blood work they sent to LabCorp for my physical 3 months prior cost $1691 out of pocket even though I have insurance and it should have been covered as preventative. I paid that bill. I have since learned that Main St Medical should have informed me that Lab Corp is out of network on my insurance and that I am supposed to have labs done a Quest. I was not informed of this. I also paid every copay each time I visited, including for things like recheck after a respiratory infection or a minor skin lesion removal.

I am so upset. Not only do I have to find a new doctor, I likely will have to pay charges I do not know what they are. I really liked Dr. Z. It is sad that his practice has come to this.

When I arrived the new person at the desk said I wouldn't be seen today unless I pay a $349 past due balance which I had never been billed for. I asked to see the bill and she couldn't give me one. She also couldn't tell me what the charges were for. Instead I was given a phone number for an offsite billing office and told to contact them. Though I could easily pay the bill, I will not ever pay a bill that I am not given a statement for.

It all started a month ago when I came in on 1st visit because I was having problems with my skin which I thought was a rash. Turns out I was having eczema problems and my health insurance from my job was very cheap so I could only find a few family physicians that would take my insurance card over my limited benefits plan. He gave me some cream and lotion to help with it. It's now June and I've started itching badly since then. My condition has gotten worse even with the prescriptions so I tried calling him about it but now when I try to follow up with him he doesn't even remember giving me the cream medicine he prescribed me.

The nurse heard the discussion and came to the front. She told me then that Dr. Z was retiring, which was sad news to me. I'm not sure I believe it, since he is a fairly young man. I also believe that by law it is considered abandonment if a doctor doesn't let you know he is retiring. Today a new man came out and introduced himself as Dr. James and said that he would always tell me what tests he would be running and though he couldn't comment on the billing problem he wanted to reassure me. I asked again to see my bill and no one could produce it. I was again asked to pay half of the amount due so I could be seen today by Dr. James. I said no way and I will contact the billing office to resolve the charges with them.

Review:

I wouldn't recommend this guy to anybody. Maybe it's my tattoos, idk, but I haven't ever been treated as rudely by any doctor I've ever been to. I'm not gonna go into specifics with personal information but he was just very presumptuous and rude and making ridiculous accusations based on what I was going in for and started talking about putting me on meds for problems I don't even have. Took an hour or so past my appointment to even be seen for what ended up being a complete waste of time and money. I usually only do these reviews when I have something good to say about a business because I like to give the benefit of the doubt when maybe someone is just having a bad day but this one is well deserved. Very rude, and very unprofessional. I was extremely disappointed with this "doctor" and won't go back.

While I have been a patient of Dr. Zahaluk for many years because I feel he is a great doctor, I have had a string of bad experiences here lately. I have dealt with the rude office staff, the ever changing nursing staff, the long waits and the odd pay practices because I valued Dr Z so much. However, today was the last straw.

This doctor has seen us through a difficult pregnancy, viral bronchitis for the whole family, asthma, and a variety of other issues. We'll be in soon for an annual checkup!

So instead he goes off telling me to visit to emergency room since he was once again out of his office. Just because I asked him if it was gonna be expensive that's when he just gives me some attitude. And now I get two letters in the mail from his statement about where else to go for other physicians and I only have 30 days to visit him on emergency basis.

Summary:

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Zahaluk for several years. He is a great Dr. a good listener, kind caring and compassionate. You could not ask for a better person to help you with your care and health matters, bar none. Dr. Z is very intelligent and spends time talking with you. I highly suggest him, with out reservation as your family Doctor

Worst doctor I've even seen. I only had 2 visits to his office and already he goes off terminating his relationship with me as my physician all over a phone call I made regarding my health condition. I barely even gave any problems, it seemed like he just didn't want to be bothered with since apparently it was his day off so instead of helping me out he insists I go elsewhere when obviously my insurance card has limited benefits plan.
