In order to live in the City of Highland Village you must know the law and your rights. Read the Texas Penal Code and Texas Family Code. The Highland Village Police Department will take their liberties at your expense. I have had to set up cameras in my teenagers car not because I'm worried about what he does, I'm worried about what the police department will do. I have also had to voice record all my conversations with the officers. They do what they want when they want. It's scary. I know several officers, constables, and DEA enforcement agents from other Cities. They can't believe some of the non-sense that goes on at this department. If you can move to Flower Mound.
The community is exceptional the police department is not. I have witnessed the Highland Village Police department make minors sit in the dirt while in handcuffs over a he said/she said matters. Just because they can does not mean they should. If you have High School age children in the vicinity hide them. They want respect but when dealing with minors they are rude and sarcastic. Trust me the police department has absolutely no problem taking their liberties.They have been bullying High School age minors for years. Apparently, the Highland Village Police Department has forgotten that they are servants of the public. They might want to try to work with the parents not against them. My hard earned tax dollars at work.
Worst police department. The City is full of underage drug addicts and drug dealers. The police department doesn't do much about it. I am not impressed. Lewisville Police department has the ability to takeover duty. They are already using their technology. What would another 16 miles be. Flower Mound could even handle it. The City is spending unnecessary tax dollars on this department. If they closed the doors real police officers could handle the job. They are good at hiding crime from the citizens.
I was walking and saw Highland Village police officers helps an elderly lady with a flat tire. While they were changing it, they had her stay in the shade.
Great group of officers doing the work that most can’t and won’t. Stay safe!!!
